“We really enjoyed last Tuesday’s Leadership Day because as leaders in the industry its important to constantly grow and adapt to the ever changing world of real estate. Each session featured an inspirational leader from within the industry who offered up bits of wisdom for us as we continue our work:
Wayne Ratkovich, President and CEO of The Ratkovich Company spoke about his mission to improve urban environment profitability. His key lesson was: “Do what you say, it will shape your company and its culture”
Amy Price, President and Chief Investment Officer at Bentall Kennedy talked about the importance of leadership training. Her key lesson was: “Leadership = influence and trust, without trust you can’t influence”
Sherman Ragland, Managing Director at Tradewinds Realty Partners spoke about the power of following your passion. His key lesson was: “It‘s all about having an inspirational vision – a mission to change something is powerful”
Dick Burns, CEO, President and Trustee at The NHP Foundation talked about the ups and downs of a career in real estate. His key lesson was: “Hire the right people, build trust, and don’t let the organization get in front of you”
Overall, each speaker provided great insight into what it’s like to be a leader in real estate today and gave us all a few things to think about. Another awesome conference put on by Urban Land Institute.” – John Pollock, CEO
